How to format your new Apple NVME SSD to APFS

First install your SSD, we have an article all about this here

Once you have it installed, boot up your Mac and immediately hold Command (⌘)-R until you are presented to recovery mode.

Once there, go to Disk Utility and then............................

1. Locate and select your OWC SSD on the left hand side menu

2. Click the Drop Down menu from left-hand side, upper corner and choose Show All Devices

3. Click on the very top level of your OWC SSD ( you should see OWC Aura Pro X2 ), click Erase, and a window appears. From the drop-down menu choose exactly as per picture 3 ( Untitled - although you can name your disk whatever you want), Format APFS, Scheme GUID partition map

4. After Erase and Format, close Disk utility, you will be taken back to Mac utilities where you can select reinstall mac OS.
