Install macOS using Internet Recovery option

When it happens you purchased a new NVME SSD for Mac and it comes in raw format with no macOS installed, you can use Internet recovery option to format and install macOS on to your new SSD.

1. Hold down Command-Option/Alt-R and press the Power button. Hold down those keys until you see a spinning globe and the         message Starting Internet Recovery

2. If you get an error with error code, for example, 2005f see below, then you need to reset NVRAM to enable Internet Recovery. 
    To reset NVRAM, see instructions on the picture. After reset, repeat same as per Step 1 to start Internet recovery again.

3. Choose your wifi to connect using your wifi password.

4. Internet recovery starts, wait until your Mac fully boot up.

5. Choose your language and continue to Mac Utilities.
     
    

6. In the Mac utility Click Disk utility.

7. From the Left-hand side drop-down menu, click Show all devices.

      

8. Highlight your PCIe media SSD and then click Erase (see arrows). You can give your SSD a name, for example, "My SSD".
    Format to Mac OS Extended (Journaled) and keep Scheme GUID Partition Map.
Please note, if you are using NVME SSD and running on macOS High Siera or newer, you have to format your SSD to APFS.

Quit Disk Utility
9. Quit Disk utility to get back to macOS utilities and click reinstall macOS.

10. Start the installation of macOS. Click the Continue button.

11. Select your new SSD to install macOS.
